  PARIS ATTRACTIONS
The Eiffel Tower
Every tourist will agree that you can't visit Paris without visiting the Eiffel Tower. It is so popular with the tourists that it is hard to believe that when it first went up many Parisians hated the Tower
and wanted it pulled down. No Parisians are complaining now as the Eiffel Tower has proved to be one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world attracting millions of visitors every year.
The Louvre
The Louvre is one of the oldest art museums in the world. It was established in 1793. The Louvre is on most tourists' must-do list when visiting Paris because of its most famous painting,
Leonardo de Vinci's "Mona Lisa" which is hanging there. One could go back to the Louvre countless times and always discover something new which makes it so special. Once you have had enough of the inside of the museum one can step out into the beautiful adjacent Tuileries Gardens where one can enjoy a lovely stroll in the French fresh air.
Notre Dame
One of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe, this great gothic architectural phenomena should not be missed when visiting Paris. Notre Dame becomes even more marvelous when we learn
that it took over 100 years to build. When visiting the cathedral be sure to climb the North Tower for an exceptional view of Paris.
Musee D'Orsay
Paris offers something for everyone. Across the bridge from the Louvre one will find the Musee d'Orsay which features mostly Early-Modern Art, something quite different from the Louvre. It is
much smaller than the Louvre but can still be quite overwhelming so it is a good idea to plan your visit, deciding in advance which pictures or sculptures you want to see because otherwise it can be quite overwhelming.
Arc de Triomphe
The Arc de Triomphe (triumphal arch) is situated at the Western end of the Champs-Elysees. The Arc de Triomphe was built to honour those who fought for France, especially during the
Napoleonic Wars. The arch looks particularly magnificent at night (as does the whole of Paris) when it is illuminated.
Champs-Elysees
The Champs-Elysees is possibly the most famous and most visited avenue in Europe and tourists cannot possibly visit Paris without being able to say that they have walked down the Champs-
Elysees. This famous avenue leads from the Place de la Concorde with the Obelisk of Luxor, to the Place Charles de Gaulle with the Arc de Triomphe. It is a beautiful avenue with lovely shops, restaurants and cafes where one can sit and enjoy a cappuccino and a "salade nicoise" while watching the world go by.
